Gift Ideas for Teachers

It’s the holiday season, and you’re about done with your family’s Christmas shopping. But what about your child’s teacher? Use this guide for some teacher gift ideas they are sure to love along with some ideas for local places to shop.

Gift Ideas for Teachers

Food

You can’t go wrong with gifting a teacher their favorite snack or sweet treat. You can even do a little extra and put the items in something they can keep. A cookie jar filled with cookies or a bag full of some holiday-themed snacks would make a great teacher gift! Consider checking out our guide on local bakeries to help find the perfect treat.

Gift cards

Who doesn’t love a gift card? We love gifting a gift card to a nearby local coffee shop or restaurant. Another nice option may be a gift card for a spa day. Those teachers work hard and deserve some pampering.

Personalized items

Who doesn’t like getting a present with a personalized touch? The gift could have a custom note or even just their name on it, but this is an idea everybody can appreciate. Water bottles, note pads, pencils/pens, bags, keychains, bookmarks, ornaments, etc., these gifts are meaningful and unique. We had our boys make personalized coffee cups and ornaments this year for their teachers.

Something useful

Want to go beyond a random cup or Christmas decoration? Consider gifting something practical a teacher can use. Do you have a teacher who loves plants? Have your crew paint a flower pot at Uncorked, and pair it with a special plant. Another option could be a blanket scarf that can be kept in the classroom and brought out easily if a teacher gets chilly. Mesa Collection has a Kansas State Wildcats one here. I’ve also never met a teacher that would turn down school and office supplies (some teachers have an online classroom wishlist) or hand sanitizer.

Special handmade card/picture

If your gift budget is tight this year, no problem. A note or a picture from your child to their teacher is priceless. A gift does not have to be expensive to be special! It’s truly the thought that counts.
