It’s baseball season, and a day at Kauffman Stadium cheering on the Kansas City Royals is great for the whole family. Whether you’re taking avid baseball fans or a toddler attending their first game, we’ve got tips for making it a successful outing!
Tickets
Consider choosing a special experience or theme day like K-State Night (June 7) or Fireworks Nights (Fridays starting Mary 17) or Fourth of July weekend. Children 32 inches in height and under do not require a ticket to enter Kauffman Stadium for Kansas City Royals games. However, they must sit on the lap of an accompanying adult.
Mom Tip: We like to take our kids to Sunday games as these often begin early afternoon and are the warmest earlier in the season.
Parking
When you download the MLB Ballpark app and pre-purchase parking, you save $10. General parking is $20, reserved parking is $30.
Food and Beverage
It’s no secret that ballpark food is pricey but there are ways you can save!
During every Royals home game, find ballpark favorites for $5 or less, including beer, soda, hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn. These value buys will be available at Crown Classics concession stands in sections 120, 135, 213, 242, 417, and 422, the Hot Corner Grill at section 201, or Brew & View 406.
Get a souvenir Slugger lunch box with your kid’s choice of a hot dog or chicken nuggets accompanied by fruit snacks, and beverage, all for just $9.99. You can find these at the Training Table Concession right by the Little K.
Mom Tip: You can also bring in food to the ballpark for total savings!
Don’t Miss the Outfield Experience
The Kansas City Royals Outfield Experience is a great place to let the littles run and get their energy out. Activities include:
- Carousel
- Sluggerrr’s Mini Golf
- Sluggerrr’s Base Run
- Sluggerrr’s Batting Challenge
- Sluggerrr’s Pitching Mound
- Price Chopper Little K
- Playground
Some of these activities require an extra ticket and tokens can be purchased at kiosks within the experience.
Sluggerrr Photos
Get your picture with Sluggerrr at the Little K area! I recommend getting in line in the middle of the third inning as the Royals mascot will show up in the fourth inning for selfies.
Commemorate The Day
Is this your first visit to Kauffman Stadium? You can download and print a first game certificate and add it to the baby book!
