Bramlage Park Skatepark

Bring your skateboard and show off your skills at Bramlage Park Skatepark. This is the perfect spot for outdoor fun, with ramps and rails for all skill levels.

CL Hoover Opera House/Junction City Little Theater

Catch a show at this beautiful, restored venue. From theatrical performances and classes, to symphonies and concerts, this cultural gem offers a diverse lineup of entertainment that delights visitors of all ages. Don’t forget to check out The Junction City Little Theater, the longest running community theater in the state of Kansas, housed in the CL Hoover Opera House.

Fort Riley

Step back in time at Fort Riley, home to the 1st Infantry Division. Tour the free museums, including the U.S. Cavalry Museum and the Historic Custer House, for an immersive historical experience. Make sure you obtain a Fort Riley Visitor Pass at the Visitor Control Center. You can also request your Visitor Pass online in advance.

Foxhole Paintball and Airsoft

Have some older kids in your crew who’d like an adrenaline rush? Come down to Foxhole Paintball and Airsoft for a fun afternoon of paintballing!

Geary County Historical Museum

Check out the Geary County Historical Museum. Delve into the area’s history with three floors of interactive exhibits and local artifacts in what used to be the Junction City High School.

Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area

Head 17 miles south to explore Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area. This 97-acre lake is surrounded by 180 acres of public hunting and fishing land. But did you know that there’s also a waterfall!? For the best chance of seeing the water flowing at Geary Lake Falls, plan to visit after a few heavy rains. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as it is a bit of a walk to the falls. You’ll get to look over the edge from up above the falls then play in the water at the bottom of the waterfall!

Heritage Park

In the heart of historic downtown Junction City, Heritage Park includes the Civil War Arch, monuments to WWI, Operation Desert Storm, POW/MIA, and the Law Enforcement Monument. It’s a perfect spot to have a picnic and reflect and appreciate our nation’s history.

Hildebrand Farms Dairy

Hildebrand Farms Dairy, established in 1930, is a family-owned dairy farm located in Junction City, Kansas. Take a tour and witness the entire milk production process, from milking to packaging. And there’s free ice cream at the end from the on-site creamery for everyone!

Milford Lake

Spend a warm day at Milford Lake, known as Kansas’ largest lake. Milford Lake offers stunning water views, fishing, and boating opportunities. Milford Nature Center and Fish Hatchery

Visit the Milford Nature Center and Fish Hatchery. Engage with native wildlife and learn about local conservation efforts. And have lots of fun at the playground, hiking path, and butterfly garden.

The Paint Barn

It’s a fun, unique paint & sip experience! Bring a snack and a drink, and have a blast making art at The Paint Barn! No experience necessary! The studio will host classes for kids on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Playground Park, Swimming Pool & Spray Complex

Featuring a large outdoor swimming pool, with diving boards, and a 28-foot tall triple tube slide, Playground Park is sure to be a big hit with your crew. If the pool is not for you, then visit the Sprayground Complex. You’ll find three water cannons, three crown jets, four pumping jets, and much more. The park also has a large field and tennis courts. And the playground is a great spot, with plenty of space for kids to run around. This playground is newly renovated and is packed with fun things like slides, spinners, balance beams, climbing structures, and a 66-foot zip line.

Rathert Stadium

Described as “the finest baseball stadium in Kansas,” you’ll think you’ve stepped back in time when you visit Rathert Stadium. This architectural landmark is constructed of native limestone with wooden seating. It is currently home to the Junction City Brigade, a collegiate summer baseball team.

Restaurants

Junction City boasts a vibrant dining scene filled with diverse restaurants. Some of my family’s favorites include Stacy’s Restaurant, Billy Sims BBQ, JC’s BBQ and Grill, and The Cove Bar and Grill.

Spin City Skating Rink

Spin City is not just a television show from my youth. It is also a skating rink that offers family fun and includes a basketball court, laser tag, and arcade games.
