As you’re cleaning out closets and decluttering, there are many places in the Manhattan area that accept donations to help our fellow community members. Check out this list for top places to donate your stuff and be sure to check the accepted donation lists before dropping off your haul.
The Encore Shop
Located at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 601 Poyntz, the Encore Shop specializes in clothing and household items. Sale proceeds support several local charities.
Family Center Budget Shop
The Family Center Budget Shop, located at 730 Colorado, sells items donated from the Community. Funds are dispersed by the board to assist different organizations (including Flint Hills Clinic, Shepherds Crossing, Emergency Shelter, and Crisis Center). Items are also shared with other service organizations, Mennonite Mission and a South Dakota Indian reservation. Donations may be left at 730 Colorado (back of building) Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check Facebook for currently accepted donations.
Goodwill
Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas will accept your donations at our Manhattan, KS location. Drop of any gently used or new items including household items, clothing, furniture and much more. You can also shop the retail portion of this location which sells clothing for men, women and children, plus more. This location also participates in our Harvesters-The Community Food Network partnership.

Habitat ReStore
Donate items to ReStore by dropping off during regular business hours (Wednedsay through Saturday; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) at 514 Pillsbury Drive. Schedule a pickup by calling (785) 537-7545 and leaving a message. The donation coordinator will return your call for scheduling a pickup. You can also email [email protected] with a description and photo to schedule a donation. Your donation to ReStore helps fund the work of Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity.
Ogden Friendship House of Hope
The Ogden Friendship House of Hope is a thrift store that encourages everyone to come and shop there because we offer the best prices in town and work to better the community as a whole. All proceeds from the thrift store go to the purchase of food for the food pantry for the Ogden Community and for emergency aid for qualified patrons. Toys for Manhattan
The goal of the Toys for Manhattan program is to provide gifts for children and their family members. To donate gently used toys, send an email to coordinate.
USD 383 Fit Closet
The USD 383 Fit Closet accepts clothing for Pre-K through seniors in high school. to If a USD 383 student would be excited/proud to wear it to school, then we’ll be happy to accept it! If it’s something a 30+ year-old would like, please donate elsewhere. We strive to fill our racks and bins with items kids would be EXCITED and PROUD to wear to school.
