Exploration Place (Wichita)

Exploration Place is a non-profit science center that expands a child’s mind while having fun. You’ll find interactive, science exhibits focused on health, flight, Kansas exploration, a sensory garden and so much more.

Admittance Policy: Two adults in the same household and all dependent children under 18/unmarried grandchildren under 18. Free admission limited to general exhibit areas; does not include dome shows, live science shows or special exhibits with an additional fee. Proof of residence required.

Sternberg Museum of Natural History (Hays)

Sternberg Museum of National History explores Earth history and the impacts of evolution. Sternberg has permanent exhibits that are available any time you visit including a fossil gallery, rattle snakes, Ice Age Hall, Earth science exploration, diorama and more.

Admittance Policy: Two adults and children 17 and under residing in the same household, or two grandparents and grandchildren 17 and under.

University of Kansas Natural History Museum (Lawrence)

The KU Natural History Museum has four floors loaded with over 10 million specimens and artifacts displaying the Earth’s biodiversity and habitats. If you ask at the desk they have discovery guides to enhance your learning experience with scavenger hunts, checklists, and science scoops.

Science City at Union Stationoverview of Science City in Kansas City

Science City is a science playground where you don’t even know you are learning while you are having fun! It has three floors spread over 100,000 square feet with 300 exhibits located both indoors and outdoors. You can spend all day there and never get bored.  Some of the exhibits include the periodic table, kinetic climber, natural works, dino dig, robots, tree house, all about trains, water works and more.

Admittance Policy: Number of people on membership, e.g., family of four plus $1 off per planetarium tickets. Free admission limited to Science City.
