Mom’s Guide to A&H Farm in Manhattan

Location

The farm is located at 1374 Collins Lane in Manhattan, Kansas.

Hours and Admission

A&H Farm is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission varies on the day of the week and if they have events going. Interested in unlimited visits? Annual passes can be purchased here.

Farm Activities

Kids will love the variety of the activities on the farm. There are various sections that offer enough room for littles to explore while also remaining in the sight line of parents. My crew loved playing basketball, soccer, and life size chess. There’s also bikes to ride on a fun tire path, carnival games to play, and a giant slide!

The Petting Zoo

Self-described asthe only place in Manhattan that your day could include a goat cuddle year round!” Come out to the Petting Zoo and meet some fun animals like Harper (Zebu), Walter and his friends (goats), and Bob and friends (ponies)! You’ll also see chickens, cows, and pigs during your visit. Don’t forget to check out the Budgie Barn where you can walk around and feed parakeets!

Bakery and Grain Bin

The newest additions to the farm include The Bakery and The Grain Bin. The Bakery offers a wide variety of drinks from lattes and hot chocolate to steamed apple cider, flavored lemonades, and more. They also offer baked goods. We absolutely love the cinnamon rolls! And in the Fall, they make delicious apple donuts and fritters. My kids’ favorite is the homemade soft serve ice cream. It’s a great treat on a hot summer day.

I did say fun for the WHOLE family right? For the grown-ups, there is The Grain Bin, a converted grain bin turned bar. It’s equipped with your favorite cold ones, and the farm often has themed drinks and slushies, in addition to some more classic choices.

Farm Store

A&H Farm grows all sorts of fruits and vegetables; you can find a complete list here. Visit their storefront or find them at The Manhattan Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings as well as the Wamego and Junction City Farmers’ Markets. Consider grabbing one of their Combo Boxes that are loaded with tons of fresh fruits and veggies. They include as much Homegrown Produce as available, and supplement with purchased produce as well from other farms (the Georgia peaches are amazing!). Items vary each week depending on the season. They also make their own salsas and pickles, and typically have lots of samples out for you to try!

Special Events

Keep your eyes open for all of the fun events A&H Farm puts on! Our favorites include the fall pumpkin patch and the baby animal days in the spring. In the summer, we’ve enjoyed the U-Pick strawberries.

Mom Tips

  • There are several areas set up to take some great photos so come in your best fall attire.
